Job Description

Position Summary:

This channel management role is responsible for supporting Biosciences Cell Culture Plastics (CCP) growth through the Channel in North America. This entails working with Biosciences Commercial, Product Management, and Market Development teams to execute high impact field-based initiatives in support of the product category. The position will have responsibility for the North America channel growth goal and will provide field collaboration and support to leverage new product launches, industry segment strategies, and our position in key accounts. Establish and manage a mutually beneficial relationship with the external channels based on trust and common goals.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

Develop and maintain field and portfolio management relationships with external channels to promote the Thermo Scientific Cell Culture Plastics.

Understand who the key players are in the channel and foster relationships to drive growth

Monitor market dynamics and understand competitor actions which guide future selling strategies/efforts

Obtain market assessment information and have the flexibility to act on it

Provide technical support and training to channel partners in support of their selling efforts and to enable them to answer customer questions

Coordinate Biosciences Cell Culture Plastics activities for external channel National Sales Meetings and other training events

Function as a key point of contact for channel partners seeking rebate/SPQ support for competitive opportunities

Collaborate with other functional areas within Thermo Fisher to execute channel business/market plans

Work well with others and use influence to lead peers and channel partners

Provide a monthly report and track metrics to AOP

Establish robust monthly business reviews to assess growth targets or variances to plan

Provide input into strategic plans which optimize channel performance

Create and implement programs that drive revenue improvement

Develop processes to identify and corrective actions to recover from shortfalls within specific product categories

Actively participate in the AOP development

Provide input into the annual channel marketing plan that supports growth initiatives

Establish appropriate sales targets for the channel with input from the Cell Biology business unit

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Domestic travel estimated at 40% of time, traveling to interface with key customers and internal teams

BS degree in Sciences, Engineering or Business, MBA preferred

7 years of experience in industry, academia, or related field with progressively increasing responsibilities

Experience in direct/distribution sales and marketing (2 years minimum)

Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions and observations from market trends and sales data analysis

Ability to plan, gain consensus and execute a project to completion and success

Demonstrated success in forming interdepartmental relationships

Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to operate independently, with initiative and good business judgment and attitude

Strong organizational and time management skills

Experience within company or other Life Science competitor

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

Ability to travel domestically (40%)

7 years of experience

Experience in sales and marketing (2 years minimum)

Proven ability to complete projects and demonstrate success

Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multi-site environment

BS degree in Sciences, Engineering or Business, MBA preferred
