The Sr Buyer/Planner
analyze purchase requisitions and coordinate purchasing activities of
assigned products with the objective of maintaining established finished goods
targets, meeting customer service goals and efficiently utilizing manufacturing
candidates who will meet our customer expectations by striving without reserve
for the highest possible reliability and quality in our products, processes,
and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action.
**_A Day in the Life_**
In this role, you will work closely with a
Global Planning team to ensure the highest possible level of customer service.
may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Prepareand issue purchase orders, expedite/de-expedite deliveries as necessary,resolve payment and quality problems with key suppliers, investigate andresolve inventory discrepancies and delivery/receiving issues.
Managea thorough knowledge of every aspect of Work in Progress (WIP) and FinishedGoods (FG) inventory levels throughout the plant and pipeline ensuringinventory goals are achieved.
Developand coordinate phase in and phase out plans in collaboration with Marketing andGlobal Planning.
Maintainobsolete product SKU’s in system.
Monitorand improve product availability in conjunction with identifying initiatives toreduce inventory levels.
Communicatewith Distribution Centers to review product inventory levels and reduce excessFG.
Create,prepare, and maintain reporting to provide data to monitor trends and allowsite business decisions on a timely basis.
MonitorValue Stream capacity plans and provide updates to Global Supply Chain.
Monitorin-process and in-transit lead-times and identify reduction opportunities.
ImplementLean principles both internally and at the supplier to reduce waste and overallcost.
Demonstratea strong commitment to teamwork and Quality Business System Requirements.
Sources, purchases,plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts,components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material throughproduction and inventory process.
Identifies raw material,component, and related requirements from engineering and productionspecifications and schedules.
In front-end procurementmode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determineslowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet requiredschedules.
Coordinates and followsup with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriateprocurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
Compiles information tokeep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
May monitor performance ofsuppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning.
**_Must Have - MinimumRequirements_**
To be considered for this position
you must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field and4 years of experience
in buying, supplier relations, material planning and inventory management, when
accompanied by a Bachelor's degree OR 2 years of that experience with a
**_Nice to Have_**
Familiarity withproduct specifications and incoming inspection procedures.
Ability to evaluate data inputs and createmeaningful analysis.
Strong Project Management skills
Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
Ability to interface with cross-functionalteammates.
Working knowledge of ISO 13485:2003 and GMP’s
APICS CPIM/CIRM/CSCP/CPM Certification
Must be able to operate independentlyrequiring limited supervision and exercise proper judgment.
PC skills, word processing, spreadsheets,project management, SAP experience
Experience in operations planning
Strong organizational skills, detailoriented.
Effective verbal and writtencommunication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to achieve Quality BusinessSystem Requirements
Experience and training in LeanManufacturing principles.
Strong knowledge of ISO 13485:2003 and FDAregulations.
Skilled in statistical analysis and detailoriented activities.
