Position Overview:

The Senior BusinessIntelligence Engineer leads and supports the development, analysis, implementation,and security of the L3 Sensor Systems Sector business intelligence andanalytical solutions. This position will design, develop, monitor and maintaincompany data warehouses and business intelligence solutions. This positiondesigns and develops data warehouse related processes and applications using avariety of programming tools to extract data from company applications andcloud-based systems. The individual will provide analysis, design/architecture,development, testing, deployment, and automation of data reporting anddashboard components. This position will mentor junior staff as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop dashboards, provide transparency of results (e.g.; daily monitoring) and communicate effectively to all departments and stakeholders.

Works closely with management teams to support business strategy through insights derived from analytics and reporting.

Primary process owner for building, validating and automating new metrics, dashboards and reports.

Takes ownership for designing and building incisive and meaningful business monitoring measures used to maintain/improve overall business performance and profitability.

Develop Business Intelligence dashboard and solutions for the organization portfolio reporting needs.

Build and manage Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) of data from varieties of databases and applications.

Design, develop, and implement technical solutions for building data marts from specific applications.

Assist in defining business and technical requirements.

Actively participate in design sessions and work closely with business analysts and IT staff.

Analyze data and identify gaps, data quality, and integrity issues.

Create and maintain system documentation, including a data dictionary.

Execute deep dive analytics for areas within the dashboard or daily results relative to plan, forecast or targets to support quality, delivery, cost and productivity.

Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable the L3 Space & Sensor Systems Sector to become a data-driven organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role supporting a federal agency required. Master's Degree is preferred.

3 years or more of direct/specialized experience conducting analysis, design, development, and implementation of business intelligence reports and dashboards, preferably in a Federal Government IT environment.

5 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services, and SQL Server Integration Services and relevant progressive analytics experience, preferably within the aerospace/defense/manufacturing industry.

Hands on, expert knowledge of Digital Boardroom, PowerBI, Tableau and/or other major analytics tools

Extensive experience utilizing SQL scripts/querying.

Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong knowledge of design, development, and implementation experience utilizing data science technologies.

Proven experience in analytical database architecture, business analytics, big data or related analytics roles.

Superior and proven experience in the application of experimental design and statistical analysis of results coupled with strong understanding of technical skills in data software such as SQL.

Excellent interpersonal and interaction skills to include communications, presentation and conflict resolution.

Demonstrated/proven ability to drive change and continuously improve existing processes.

Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders.

This position will require travel, 5% - 10%
