We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist at our corporate headquarters located in Dallas, Texas.

Essential Job Duties:

Directly responsible for the contracting process including RFP preparation, analysis of bids, award recommendations, approval process, contract negotiations, performance metrics and contract management for assigned indirect maintenance, repair and operating supplies (MRO) or service commodities

Assist all manufacturing locations in implementing new contracts, resolving issues and evaluating opportunities

Maintain knowledge of and communicate market trends affecting the company related to assigned commodities, primarily in the maintenance, repair and operating supplies (MRO) or service areas of procurement

Work with suppliers, manufacturing, maintenance, and regional purchasing to develop, promote and implement cost savings initiatives

Track and report supplier performance, including cost savings and spend

Manage data related to contracts, material lists, material groups, quotes and outline agreements in SAP

Manage and approve data in the company electronic procurement catalog or supplier punch-out websites for assigned commodities

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives in order to drive process improvements, reduce costs and leverage supplier relationships

Ensure that all activities are made in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures

Bachelor’s Degree required, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Finance

5 years of purchasing, supply chain, category management or strategic sourcing experience

Experience negotiating and implementing large, multi-year contracts

High proficiency in utilization of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, SharePoint)

Some travel required

Additional Desired Qualifications:

Technical knowledge of MRO goods and services (pipe, valves, fittings, gaskets, pumps, hoses, electrical)

Proven analytical skills (3-5 years performing analyses with the ability to investigate, develop and implement action plans)

Chemical industry experience including working with cross functional teams

SAP enterprise software experience preferred

Demonstrated leadership skills in supplier/peer interactions with the ability to influence others
