This product manager position will own and be responsible for the technology analysis, customer research, future product planning, and cradle-to-grave life-cycle management of our workstation value-add software. Initial value-add software solutions include HP Remote Graphics Software and HP Performance Advisor, but other solutions will be pursued and added over time. This person will be the voice of the customer during product solution development, working with R & D and Supply Chain to ensure that we deliver compelling software solutions that drive loyalty and preference for HP Workstations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop an in-depth understanding of customers challenges to clearly define product requirements

Working cross-functionally, define and drive alignment and implementation of the value-add software roadmap including products, services, and solutions

Performs in-depth, periodic competitive analysis, and reports back on competitive landscapes/trends/introductions

Influence Software Supply Chain to improve software licensing and delivery capabilities

Contribute with a start-up mentality by contributing in all areas where customers intersect with our value-add software

Regularly present the benefits of our software to customers

Manage the product life cycle for workstation value-add software

Develop core marketing content for workstation value-add software including product plans, specifications, messaging, and positioning

Communicate and drive organizational alignment on software deployment with key stakeholders, including marketing, system engineering, other HP BUs, and the regions

Contribute to longer term strategy development for workstation software supported by technology trends, emerging customer requirements, financial analysis, and competitive positioning

Accomplish goal driven tasks within challenging timelines

Influence at the Vice President level and above

Education and Experience Required:

College degree in Software/Engineering/Technology. Ideal candidate also has an MBA

7 years in product management fundamentals

Experience with and curiosity about deeply technical customer requirements and associated solutions

Ability to effectively work as a leader in a cross functional team environment including business and product development, supply chain and procurement processes and execution dependencies

Strong track record of influencing successful product/solution vision/roadmap and executing to a plan

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and expertise in communicating with international partners, executives, and customers

Strong leadership capabilities.

Excellent knowledge of Design Thinking and User Experience methodologies and tools such as ethnographic research, maps, day in the life, value proposition canvas, personas, use cases and sketching

Strong customer empathy and ability to incorporate global perspectives

Creative problem-solving skills
