Position Overview

As Tech Lead - Front-End/UI Development

you’ll guide a development team of software engineers in building custom solutions and creating a front-end/UI Development strategy and best practices.

Using Agile methods, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle including work planning, sprint execution, roadmaps, testing, and operational execution. Your main responsibilities will be working with the developers to help them be efficient and successful and partnering with other PeopleNet business units to ensure we meet their needs.

80% Technical Expertise and Guidance:

Provide technical direction while also getting involved in “hands-on” design and development.

20% Training and Development:

Provides technical and non-technical advice and training to team members where needed.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of professional experience

5 years of experience in Front-End Software Engineering/ Software Development in a professional environment.

2 years of experience leading a development team

2 years driving delivery in an Agile environment

Experience in web frameworks like Angular, React and NodeJS

Experience building adaptive or responsive websites using UI technologies like Bootstrap or material design

Demonstrated ability to learn and master complex technology

Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective collaboration experience

Preferred Skills:

Angular Material (Material Design)

ES2015/ES6 (Babel)

HTML5 and CSS pre-processors such as SASS or LESS

Front-end build tools such as Grunt, Gulp, Browserify, or Webpack

Building NodeJS services

Experience designing, building, and operating enterprise grade cloud scale websites

Experience working with leadership and key stakeholders throughout the business

Experience interacting with users to understand business goals and design solutions
