Comcast's Technology & Product division is looking for a self-motivated, senior level software developer in test (SDET) to validate the design and implementation of X1 for XFINITY TV, the company's flagship video product and customer experience. At Comcast we work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and we challenge ourselves to be the best video product on the market. We're seeking a SDET who has a passion for delivering highly polished visual experiences for use by broad audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Independently author test cases for large scale system changes that touch many areas of the application and have broad performance implications. Test cases would include calling patterns to downstream services, caching behavior, analysis of application logs, system performance and resiliency including CPU and memory usage, and failure cases.

Actively solicit and consider input from multiple engineers when creating or revising test cases.

Demonstrate expertise in creating test cases, including peer review, providing meaningful feedback.

Proactively migrate repetitive, manual tests into the automated integration test platform.

Review Product and System Requirements provide feedback on Acceptance Criteria and how requirements can be improved.

Coordinate defect management and triage functions, working cross-functionally to resolve issues.

Provide regular communication and documentation of project status and issues requiring escalation.

Provide documentation and details on the system and features including flowcharts, Network diagrams, Data Flow diagrams, and Sequence diagrams to help in train fellow Engineers.

Utilize available tools to Monitor System health and performance. Report and escalate issues that impact Customer Experience and Performance of the System.

Collaborate effectively with a tight-knit team containing developers, QA testers, product owners and project managers

Work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment using agile methodologies

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent field of study) from an accredited university

3-5 years experience testing software applications

1-2 years experience developing tests using automated testing frameworks

Ideal candidate will have Java development experience which can be leveraged for building automated test frameworks.

Experience with one or more code version control systems

Demonstrated experience testing complex user interface applications

Experience working effectively in a corporate setting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A passion for working in technology as demonstrated by personal project work, open-source contributions, personal websites or participation in tech communities
