We’re seeking a Social Media Strategist with an eye for great written and visual content, another eye for data analysis, and an overarching vision of the social stratosphere.

Our ideal candidate is first and foremost an excellent writer: you know how to take the densest, most complex of white papers and create social posts that zing and shine and hook in audiences. You get excited about researching the background that’ll give both you and our audiences the necessary info to engage with our content. You know how to look at the cold, hard facts: what are the numbers telling us? And how can we constantly improve based on those analytics?

We’re also looking to you for ideas: what’s happening in the social realm? What should we do more / less of?


Write for brand social channels: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube

Work with assigned IBM Industry Marketing team to develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy

Manage social channels and implement social listening tactics and engage clients

Analyze and report to gauge success—and be able to pivot and re-pivot if something’s not working

Support social media activities at IBM conferences and events, either in-person or remotely

Develop in-depth knowledge of IBM Industries’ products, markets, competition, and audiences to create relevant content

Contribute to brainstorming, ideations, and discussions around campaign frameworks and direction for both big picture and day-to-day content strategy.

Identify influencers and develop an influencer outreach strategy.

Partner with Digital Strategist on Paid Social plans and integrate with Owned Social channels

Work accurately and quickly under tight deadlines.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A deep understanding of how to develop and apply social personas to content development, publishing and social account management

Business experience with social networking platforms including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube

Demonstrated success activating social programs, specifically with results for social engagement and target audience growth

Demonstrated ability to research, learn and communicate with Clients

Experience with social content publishing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sysomos, Rival IQ, Spredfast

Exceptional leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills

Aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Ability to explain a position on an issue with confidence and data to support view

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university and 3-5 years’ experience in business development, communications or public relations, specifically developing social initiatives

Social experience in the technology space
