Key Responsibilities and End Results: (Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to the following): Under general supervision, performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and\/or receiving duties as they relate to the shipping and receiving of material, supplies and equipment; may work out of a central warehouse. Assembles orders, checks against shipping or customer order and reports shortages and incomplete orders. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment; prepares and packs order for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Operates standard manual and automatic equipment. Uses computer and NWBS systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting. May operate crane, hoist, forklift, or power truck to move materials. Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing schedules and requirements. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment, (un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Unpacks incoming items, checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items when necessary. May expedite material(s) to proper department or storage location. Identifies problem areas in shipping functions and assists supervisor as requested. May assist in training entry level employees. Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department\/position. Job Specifications : The minimum education and experience required to perform this job competently. High School Diploma\/GED and 2 years of related experience Ability to read and write English and to interpret documents such as safety rules, operation instructions, procedures manuals, reports and other transactional paperwork. Moderate physical demand involving some lifting and moving of materials up to approximately 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, squat, kneel, bend, and or sit for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
