Senior eCommerce Developer, Mobile Web (','MAC07821','!*!Job Overview:

The Mobile/UI Developer (Sr.) designs, implements and supports the web development for website functionality and will work closely with Leads, Architects, other Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and Quality Engineers in a highly collaborative environment. The website team is dynamic, fast paced, and highly collaborative. Ideal candidate must be able to thrive in an environment where change is constant. The website development team uses an Agile methodology where all roles closely collaborate with one another in order to complete each unit of work – the story. In other words, development is not complete until all unit testing, code reviews, QA verification, and user acceptances have passed for each story. This means communication skills and interpersonal skills are a must for this position.  The website team is self-organizing. This means developers need to take initiative to pick up stories and reach out to other team members when they need assistance in order to ensure the story is completed. Likewise, developers need to be available and willing to assist other engineers and teammates when they need assistance. Verbal and written communication skills are key here.

Essential Functions:

• Design, implement and unit test Web Application code.

• Participate in the Agile methodology, including meetings, iterative development, estimations and design sessions.

• Work with Product Managers and Business Analysts to understand and implement complex business functionality.

• Deliver project assignments on time, within budget and with high quality.

• Stay current with the newest online technologies; research new technologies and make recommendations on implementations.

• Work with the Lead to review technical specifications as required, meeting the objectives of functional specifications. Specifically, identifying specific interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures or functions as required.

• Collaborate with Architects and other Software Engineering resources in designing and implementing integrated, enterprise solutions.



• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 6 years experience or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 3 years experience

• 4 years experience doing UI/Front-end development with a solid knowledge of JavaScript / AJAX / HTML / CSS

• 2 years experience (preferably mobile) in building web applications using the latest standards-based approaches (HTML5, CSS3)

• Demonstrable knowledge of Semantic HTML markup and Mastery of cross-browser, cross-platform markup and layout (HTML, CSS)

• Sound Knowledge on JavaScript design patterns & frameworks; Worked on one or more of the technologies including Backbone, Ember.js, Handlebars, foundation.js, Underscore, and so on

• Experience in incorporating and utilizing TDD /BDD/ JavaScript unit testing frameworks (Jasmine, Mocha)

• Knowledge on Ant or Maven build tools, SVN / GIT source control systems

• Good understanding on builds (grunt), continuous integration and automated testing strategies

• Experience on node.js and minimal java knowledge is a big plus

Communication Skills:

• Ability to clearly write technical specifications

• Able to effectively communicate across teams and roles

• Excellent verbal and written communications

Other Skills:

• Must be a self-starter and have the ability to learn things on his or her own

• Ability to work seamlessly in a cross-functional team development environment

• Understanding of implementing responsive design techniques

• Knowledge of what is required to develop highly performance web applications including Single Page Application (SPA’s)

• Ability and desire to thrive in a proactive, high-pressure, customer-facing, environment

• Good sense of what is required of a great user interface
