Our culture is built upon the values of respect, integrity and transparency, and we live these values every day in how we treat our Customers and our Associates.SUMMARY:The Senior Specialist is responsible for assisting the Team Manager in achieving department goals by providing associate training, monitoring and auditing and providing administrative support. This person is also responsible for collecting on severely past due accounts in order to reduce delinquencies/losses. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\u2022 Report statistics and collection performance.\u2022 Be visible in the department to motivate and answer associate questions.\u2022 Assist in facilitating effective team meetings and planning sessions.\u2022 Conduct monitors/account audits to ensure compliance and provide feedback.\u2022 Assist in creating incentives to motivate associates to achieve business goals.\u2022 Track and measure incentives.\u2022 Approve or decline customer account extension requests and accounts in review for repossession. \u2022 Resolve elevated customer issues/inquires and collection account disputes.\u2022 Coordinate with other departments/personnel where necessary to resolve customer issues.\u2022 Select and submit accounts for repossession review.\u2022 Take incoming/make outbound collection calls to customers on to resolve outstanding past due balances on their account.\u2022 Verify customer information on account is correct and update as necessary\u2022 Work with external vendors to resolve outstanding account issues.\u2022 Educate customers regarding their account, interest accruals, late fees, credit reporting, charge off, payment options and account management options.\u2022 Utilize on-line systems and other resources to perform skip trace work on customers and vehicles to establish contact or vehicle location.\u2022 Process customer payments via inter-company computer systems.\u2022 Annotate accounts in company database to document interactions with the customer, vendors, etc.\u2022 Perform above functions within department expectations/metrics.\u2022 Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, including collection policies/laws. Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:\u2022 Multi-task in a high energy and fast-pace work environment.\u2022 Speak and listen effectively with customers, associates and vendors.\u2022 Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.\u2022 Ability to tolerate stressful interactions with customers.\u2022 Work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.\u2022 Apply a common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions and ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.\u2022 Complete CarMax provided training as required.\u2022 Understand and adhere to company policies, procedures and collection laws.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\u2022 High school diploma.\u2022 12 -18 months of collections and/or related experience.\u2022 Basic computer knowledge.\u2022 Basic typing skills including minimum speed accuracy requirements.\u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.WORK ENVIRONMENT:\u2022 Great work-life balance, community involvement, team engagement events, on-site gym...etc.\u2022 Not a suit & tie environment, think jeans and sneakers.\u2022 Flexible work hours with shifts that include days, evenings, and weekends.
