Overview
The Separations Effectiveness Laboratory team employs a broad spectrum of LC, LC-MS, and LC-MS/MS based applications in the development, evaluation, and positioning of Liquid Chromatographic Systems.
The Senior Scientist will be a key member of a team working with pre-release and released versions of chromatographic LC systems (HPLC, UHPLC, UPLC), including multiple detection mechanisms and associated control software to evaluate LC System usability and performance for the purpose of generating scientific content for use in technical marketing, scientific meetings, peer-reviewed literature and internal training.
Responsibilities

Close collaboration with LC Instrument Product Managers and regular interaction with Instrument Development, Informatics, Market Management and Waters Field Marketing teams.
Differentiation of system performance and usability characteristics and identification and demonstration of unique system synergies that provide customer benefits and competitive advantages.
Development and delivery of scientific material and system training for Waters Internal and Field Technical Chemists.
Preparation and presentation of scientific material in support of product and field marketing for technical meetings, seminars, industry forums and professional peer reviewed journals.
Generate written reports, application notes, and presentations in support of product launch and marketing initiatives
Up to 20% travel, domestic and international including Asia and India.

Qualifications

 M.Sc. or Ph.D. in chemistry or biology discipline with 3 years of relevant industry experience.
B.S. or A.B. in chemistry or biology discipline with 10 years of relevant industry experience and documented history of publication in peer reviewed journals.
Experience in UPLC, UHPLC or HPLC separations method development is required.

Proficiency in LC-MS & LC-MS/MS is desired
Experience in LC technology evaluation is desired
Experience with the Empower Chromatography Data System required.
Proven ability and initiative to learn new technologies and analytical techniques
Team player with excellent written and oral communications skills.
Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to balance work on multiple projects at the same time.
