OVERVIEW

The Senior Retouching Artist, reporting into the Senior Manager Content Studio, provides retouching services for the Verizon in-house agency. Providing image retouching, color correction, and compositing on assigned projects, this role will be a key component of the new 3D studio focusing on modeling devices, accessories and other tech products. The Senior Retoucher should also be ableto provide prepress and production support for appropriate print projects and will be responsible for retouching and post-production workflow process. This lead role will manage all the retouching needs for the 3D studioand will determine how best to utilize other team members or to utilize freelance talent. The Senior Retoucher will also work closely with the creative, marketing, design and retail teams to ensure quality, color and image consistency throughout Verizon’s entire brand.

What we’re looking for...

Key Responsibilities

Performs full image retouching including, clean up, outlining, merging multiple images when needed, color correction/shifting, cropping and compositing.

Create and maintain new product retouching guidelines for in-house agency especially how they relate to 3D assets.

Work with the Head of Content Studio to minimize waste, improve efficiencies and track cost savings.

Performs file naming and archiving of images following in-house agency process for both product and marketing photography.

Liase directly with external partners, partner agencies and production vendors to coordinate and execute scans, digital output, outside color correction and retouching when needed and printing.

Manages additional freelance staff working on overflow projects. Provides files and retouching direction to freelance staff. Managing daily workflow with freelancers.

Advises creative on best way to execute approved concepts via illustration, scanning, retouching and pre-press techniques.

Helps solve problems before they negatively impact the project, team or processes.

Prepares proofs (black and white laser output or specified color outputs).

Acts as a mentor and technical advisor to junior staff.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree and/or seven plus years of experience of professional-level retouching, studio production and pre-press within an agency, design studio or equivalent.

Possesses expertise of design techniques, skills, tools and procedures for the applicable media.

Vast exerience at tech device retouching is preferred.

Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat. Adobe certification a plus.

Possesses broad and deep understanding of printing techniques, processes, pre-press and online image preparation best practices.

Should feel comfortable in a fast-past environment while managing urgent deadlines, shifting priorities, organizing and reporting a variety of production details.

Proven experience working and leading within a team environment.

States opinions clearly and can verbally describe visual concepts.

Provides open and honest feedback to supporting team members to drive development and executional excellence.

Seeks appropriate support from other team members to help develop assets for specific projects.

Possesses a keen eye to detail and is prideful and diligent in the final preparation of work including production, presentation details and ultimately the final QC.
