As a Senior Project Manager, you will successfully organize and lead cross-functional project teams on high visibility project initiatives under the direction of the Director of Strategic Project Management. These cross-functional project teams will include personnel from various groups within the organization and outside vendors.  The multiple projects you manage will be global in both scale and scope, will represent significant business opportunities for Cardinal Health, and have direct visibility to senior management. Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing core team members to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and schedule.Projects include, but are not limited to:Lead and support new technologiesCollaborative leadership in support of strategic sourcing initiativesLeading project team activities to reduce manufacturing costsAnalysis and implementation of plant/operational restructuringWhat Engineering Program/Project Management contributes to Cardinal Health Program/Project Management is responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single or multiple projects and/or programs. May manage project and/or program managers within assigned program and/or project. Works within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field requiredA minimum of 4 years related work experience required, 10 or more years strongly preferredAdvanced Engineering degree or MBA preferredMedical Device Project Management Experience a very strong plusPMI certification or in process of certification preferredTrained Certified in Lean and /or 6 Sigma methodologies preferredAbility to balance customer, manufacturing, and business requirements to expedite project launchAbility to work independently (self-directed) with a strong track record of managing projects to scheduleExcellent interpersonal and influence management skills including evidence of managing multi-discipline teamsExperience effectively handling conflict through proactive action, and direct and timely communicationAttention to detail and experience to check behind the scenes to ensure surprises are minimizedSet the standard for timeliness, work ethic, and personal integrityStrong written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong business case development skills with good cost accounting vocabularyStrong Computer skills; proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)Willing and able travel domestically and internationally, approximately 75%What is expected of you and others at this levelManages department operations and supervises professional employees, frontline supervisors and/or business support staffParticipates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goalsEnsures employees operate within guidelinesDecisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes, and customersInteracts with subordinates, peer customers and suppliers at various management levels may interact with senior managementInteractions normally involves resolution of issues related to operations and/or projectsGains consensus from various parties involvedAccountabilites:Lead cross-functional teams on key strategic projectsDevelop and execute strategic project plans including schedules, budgets, and resourcesDefine project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managersPlan, coordinate and track project activitiesManagement of project budget and oversight of capital expendituresDevelop and monitor risk mitigations plans to ensure business and project objectives are metSupport outside contract/supply agreement contract development and vendor managementChallenge functional groups to meet project goals and commitmentsProvide routine project status communications to project team and managementUtilize coaching and facilitating skills with program shareholders to ensure proper project management protocols are employed and best practices utilizedPosted 30 Days AgoFull time20021144
