Senior Photonics/Telecommunications Engineer General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems - Hanover, MD, United States

Location: Hanover, MD

Company Profile:
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has always been at the leading edge of technology development, ushering in discoveries that have changed the face of the industry. In the 1950s, we were contracted by the U.S. Air Force to study the causes of injury in aircraft. The study concluded the major cause of injury was from the sudden stop when you hit the ground, not the fall in the sky. While this may seem basic, the finding helped create the Transportation Safety Research Department. We also helped create the first mobile field unit with Doppler radar for the U.S. Weather Bureau and built the first 1603 computer, sold to the U.S. Navy Bureau of ships.
