The Senior Payroll Specialist will perform a variety of confidential administrative support activities within the human resources department to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service to the organization.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

Perform payroll preparation including auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards.

Accurately process company-wide biweekly and weekly multi-state payroll using Ultipro payroll software for an estimated 1000+ employees. Responsible for the full payroll cycle.

Process employee garnishment orders including entry into payroll system, responses to court(s) or other agencies, and mailing of garnishment notification letters.

Run queries to ensure system data integrity on a regular basis.

Process weekly dashboard headcount analysis.

Respond to employee pay related inquiries.

Prepare payroll related reports for management personnel and auditors on a per pay period basis and as requested.

Assist with quarterly wage and account reconciliation.

Process employment verifications and updates to HRIS system.

Provide administrative support to Human Resource department.



Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field

Minimum 3 years payroll experience

Aptitude to maintain highly confidential information

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently with urgency and deadlines in a fast paced environment

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads

Ability to adapt easily to change

Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll Certification designation preferred but not required

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use, and frequent telephone use.
