Position Description

The Senior Paralegal - Contracts is an experienced contract professional responsible for creating and drafting contracts, templates, and playbooks as needed.  As a member of Allergan’s Legal department, the role will provide contract support for various client groups across organization by performing contract reviews and negotiations while ensuring contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations and internal policies and procedures. 

Main Areas of Responsibility

Supports contract negotiation and drafting effort.
Develops and provides contract and business model related training to client group.
Leads and executes special projects as tasked by internal counsel.  Researches legal issues.
Performs in a cross-functional coordination role with other business team members (e.g., commercial, finance, legal, operations, procurement).
Develops and provides contract and business model-related training to Allergan personnel.
Mentors less-experienced contract professionals in other departments.
Expert grasp of contracting concepts and strong analytical skills.
Strong internal and external negotiation skills and ability to influence.
Analyzes new and revised laws and regulations for potential impact on business units' goals and objectives; communicates findings to business units.
Analyzes contract trends; drafts, and reviews contract terms and conditions with vendors and other third parties to ensure contract language conformity to legal specifications.

Bachelor's Degree; advanced, related degree preferred
6 to 8 years of relevant work experience (or appropriate combination of education and experience)
Proofreading/editing skills
Drafting, negotiation and client communication skills
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks/responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
