Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary:

Essential Functions:

In-depth understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, server virtualization, and Active Directory integration.

Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches (Cisco IE3000 / Stratix 8000) as part of an industrial automation control system network including layer 2 switches and layer 3 routers.

Experience designing and deploying VMware solutions including advanced topics such as storage and networking.

Provide proactive recognition and correction of network related problems

Provide support to customers and engineering team during new system test, installation and start up.

Willingness to frequently travel (domestic, international, and offshore sometimes in harsh or isolated environments) working frequent overtime and weekends to achieve customer requirements occasionally for multiple weeks at a time.

Demonstrated analytical / problem-solving skills

Proven teaming and communication skills

Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools

Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

Must be able to work in a stressful environment

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related technology driven degree.

5 years' of computer networking experience.

At least one Network Certification (Ex. CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Security, CCNA Industrial).

Periodic travel up to 50% of the time.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Rockwell software solutions.

Stratix switch experience highly desired.

Prior work with Device Level Rings.

Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing advanced network issues including configuration issues, routing issues, firewall issues, performance concerns, software bugs, and hardware failures.

Ability to develop instructions and guidelines for both technical and non-technical people.

Experience with network management troubleshooting and monitoring.

Experience planning and executing small to medium infrastructure projects including the design, selection, testing, installation and documentation of network systems.

Ability to develop and maintain network diagrams/documentation.

Experience utilizing packet capture software to decode and analyze network traffic for problem resolution of complex issues.

Scripting experience in the support of automating services and processes.

Desired certifications MCSA/MCSE/MCSD, CCNA Industrial, CCNA/CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNA/CCNP Security, VCA/VCP.
