Job Description
As a Senior Value Engineer, you may be based remotely in the continental US if you reside near an international airport due to travel up to 50%; the plant in Crystal Lake, Illinois, is the preferred location. You will research and validate components, processes, materials, and applications while sustaining current product designs. The engineer is responsible for driving and implementing process improvements, implementing changes that enhance performance or address quality issues, including determine root cause failure modes and implementing corrective actions. Production line down situations will be within scope. Driving and implementing cost savings initiatives is a key responsibility of this position. What Manufacturing Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health \r
Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools. Review new designs for manufacturability. Design process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality.\r
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field and technical aptitude requiredA minimum of 2 years related work experience required with successful demonstrated experience working in a multifaceted environment with internal and external customers in a technical support role.Medical Device experience desiredStrong planning, organization, and leadership skillsAbility to balance customer, manufacturing and business requirementsAbility to work independently (self-directed)Ability to effectively handle conflict through proactive action, and direct and timely communicationAttention to detail and experience to check behind the scenes to ensure surprises are minimizedProven ability to partner cross functional organizations to successfully drive project implementationsSets the standard for timeliness, work ethic, and personal integrityStrong written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong computer skills; proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 35-50%Dynamic, positive attitude\r
