Position Overview

The Senior Manager, In-Flight Absence Management is responsible for guiding a team of Managers to improve overall productivity and reliability of the In-Flight employees, as well as manage the In-Flight Administrative team. This person will identify key workforce reliability trends and identify programs to improve overall operational effectiveness. This position reports to the Managing Director of In-Flight.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for developing, managing, planning and coordinating all aspects of Absence Management (i.e. sick leave, tardiness, OJI reporting, etc.), ensuring the sustainability of the operation and productivity amongst Flight Attendants

Manage, support, coach and evaluate the In-Flight Absence Management team to ensure Flight Attendant compliance with Workforce Reliability programs and goals

Lead In-Flight initiatives, process and procedural improvements related to Workforce Reliability

Works closely with Sr. Manager(s), In-Flight and other members of the In-Flight leadership team to coordinate efforts related to Flight Attendant performance and engagement

Works closely with Crew Scheduling, Absence Management and Labor Relations to ensure the success and improvement in Workforce Reliability programs and the integration with other programs closely connected to workforce reliability

Will also perform the duties of the Manager, In-Flight Absence Management

Manages the Administrative team at the Crew Center

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED

Four years of management experience

Previous experience in absence or leave management, or workforce productivity

Experience working with collective bargaining agreements

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends and solutions

Must obtain AOA badge

Demonstrate ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Demonstrate skill as a communicator and team builder; proven ability to balance empathy and discipline

Track record as a change manager and leader; must have the ability to influence through both words and actions

Excellent coaching and mentoring skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Flight Attendant experience
