What is the Sr Investment Writer responsible for?

The Senior Investment Writer will play an important role in the ongoing development of Franklin Templeton's marketing efforts in the private wealth advisor marketplace focused on RIAs, private banks and bank trusts. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled writer, with deep investment knowledge and understanding of the asset management industry. A proven ability to develop and write engaging, high quality content under tight deadlines is essential.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Sr Investment Writer?

Writing and overseeing production of complex and high-profile commentary and other content deliverables (e.g. top portfolio managers, market perspective pieces)

Write both long and short form content under tight deadlines

Generate ideas and develop communications on a variety of complex financial concepts and topics intended for a sophisticated advisor audience

Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with internal partners (Sales, Portfolio, Legal, Creative Services) to accomplish department objectives

Develop and maintain in-depth expertise of client needs and interests, business insight and market trends through independent research as well as consultation with internal partners

Manage projects/deliverables by actively communicating with team members about deadlines and informing all interested parties of deliverable timelines and status

Monitor fund, industry and market activities

Remain current with FINRA compliance rules

Qualifications

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

At least 6-8 years of successful writing experience , investment industry or financial journalism background strongly desired. MBA, CFA, and other industry qualifications are a plus.

Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in economics, business, English, journalism or similar discipline.

Deep understanding of financial markets, multiple product vehicles and the investment industry. Specific knowledge of the RIA market preferred.

Proven ability to develop and write engaging, high quality content on investment-related topics

Demonstrated success in a deadline driven environment, multi-tasking, project management, attention to detail, organization of materials and cooperating with team members

Self-starter who can work independently or with minimal supervision

Knowledge of office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Knowledge of regulatory and industry rules, guidelines, and standards (SEC, FINRA, GIPS Ò )

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Deep understanding of financial markets, mutual funds, ETFs and the investment industry

Exceptional writing skills

Excellent research and analytical skills, including ability to perform simple mathematical calculations or analyses and accurately proofreading documents
