Altria Client Services’ role is to help Altria Group and its operating companies responsibly meet their business goals by providing the high quality services they require in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Technology Analyst to join our Information Services - Consumer and Marketplace Insights Support department in Richmond, VA.

The successful candidate will function as a business analyst or project lead, responsible for developing and enhancing IT solutions that enable advanced consumer and marketplace analytics. Your role will include understanding business needs, gathering and documenting requirements, integrating existing and new sets, developing data warehouses, and building robust analytic solutions. You will work with business managers, internal and external developers, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions.

Specific accountabilities include:

Performs activities relating to analysis, evaluation, developing, testing, operating or supporting existing and planned BI and data warehouse tools and processes

Assessing technical infrastructure and processes, identifying potential risks and recommending corrective action.

Communicating complex technical information to business customers and project teams in an effective and concise manner.

Performing data profiling, querying, manipulation, and analysis.

Participating as a technical resource for a variety of information projects that will be dictated by current business needs and technological developments

Qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.

5 years of IT experience

Big data experience in a cloud based architecture is preferred, such as Azure, Hadoop, Hive, PostgreSQL

Experience with relational databases and querying, such as Microsoft SQL server, Teradata, or Oracle

Experience with data analytics and BI tools, such as R, SAS, SPSS, and Tableau

Familiarity with machine learning tools and techniques (Azure Machine Learning Studio preferred)

Effective in leading and participating in cross-discipline IT project delivery teams

Strong communication and presentation skills.
