Today, 99,000 of us are working to help people live not just longer, but better, in the more than 150 countries we serve.The Senior Business Systems Analyst will be directly involved in conducting analysis, documenting requirements, creating functional specifications, system configuration, testing and implementation of new and existing systems.  This role will provide expertise that is critical in assisting with the identification of opportunities for the effective use of technology and the implementation of IT solutions.Job Duties: Maintaining technology standards for development and maintenance of new and existing systems, makes recommendations for improvement.  Specifically, OnBase, Windchill Quality Solutions, High Performance Computing Environments, .Net/SQL custom development and other medical device product development and laboratory systems. Ensures quality documentation and performs activities for application implementation and enhancements, specifically OnBase, Windchill Quality Solutions, High Performance Computing Environments, .Net/SQL custom development and other medical device product development and laboratory systems.Collaborates with internal customers to ensure user requirements are complete and concise, confirming that changes and enhancements meet specifications and user requirementsInteract with the business to elicit, analyze and document detailed business requirements, create test cases and ensure quality through testingPerforms business process analysis to define configuration requirementsTransforms business requirements into quality documentation including detailed design specifications to describe program development and ensure tractability to requirements in validated quality testing system.   Makes appropriate recommendations for continuing, modifying, or abandoning proposed projects based on the results of feasibility studies and/or cost/benefit analysesMaps current processes to the desired state and identifies gaps such as program functions, output requirements, input requirements and sources, data conversion strategies, and system techniques and controlsProvides solid test designs, develops test cases and execution test cases where applicableDevelops business process flows for new system development or for process redesignContributes to documenting end-user training and training as neededProvides support to existing applications and resolves business problemsKeeps informed of trends and new developments in technology to better advise management of means to accomplish business and information systems process improvementsCommunicates effectively with management to enhance their understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systemsComplies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience5 years of business analysis experience5 years of experience translating business requirements into tracible test casesExcellent communication and customer service skills.  Able to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectationsAbility to multi-task efficiently on parallel effortsAbility to drive requirements and project work through to closureExperience in formal design reviewExperience in reviewing technical designs, and experience in code reviews - providing feedback on whether the technical design and code satisfies functional specificationsTraining and experience in good test design; experience writing test cases and reviewing/approving the execution of those test casesExperience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.,datePosted:2018-05-23T00:00:00.000Z,title:Senior IT Business Analyst,occupationalCategory:Information Technology,@context:http://schema.org}Senior IT Business Analyst in United States - Minnesota - Plymouth | Information Technology at Abbott Laboratories
