L3 Maritime Systems, located in Leesburg, Virginia is currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner

, to support our employees in Leesburg, VA and Ayer, MA. Our core business is communication, navigation and control systems for Navy ships, including Integrated Voice Systems (telephone, intercom, announcing, radio, wire free, etc.), Ship Control and Integrated Bridge Systems, Computerized Information Systems and Machinery Control Systems. We utilize the latest commercial technology and apply it to the unique applications that exist on Navy ships.

Job Description:

The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning HR objectives and initiatives to business strategy. The Senior HRBP is an extension of the business it serves and acts as a consultant to management on HR related issues, a change agent and employee champion. Additionally, he/she will effectively manage and execute HR processes, including talent acquisition and development, employee relations, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, diversity, salary planning, and incentive compensation planning as well as managing and tracking compliance against deadlines.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Provide strategic and tactical HR support to the employees in the assigned business areas

Partner with management to understand key business challenges and organization needs, and identify and execute programs to address gaps. Partner with leadership to accurately forecast and plan staffing requirements

Facilitate change initiatives through the use of HR consultation skills.

Advise and counsel leaders on a variety of topics to optimize employee engagement, team development and organizational effectiveness.

Coach and train leaders on talent and performance management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions

Counsel employees on HR procedures, performance, career planning and work/life balance issues.

Objectively assess and bringing to resolution employee relations issues.

Execute HR processes, including talent management and development, workforce planning and management, diversity and inclusion, salary planning, etc..

Participate in and/or lead special projects such as Affirmative Action Plans, Employee Engagement activities, Organizational Design, and other projects with significant scope and complexity.

Manage multiple projects on continuous improvement for HR.


Basic Qualifications

Strong business acumen with experience overlaying HR strategy with business needs

Strong knowledge of human resources practices and policies, and applicable state and federal laws.

Ability to drive change, promote, and implement improvement effectively across a matrixed organization.

Excellent project management skills

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Demonstrated, well-developed decision-making, prioritization and problem solving skills

Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.

Experience supporting senior leadership clients.

Strong organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated successful management of multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of the organization

BA/BS degree w/6 years' experience or MA/MS degree w/4 years' experience

Experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred

MBA and SPHR certification is preferred.

This position will be located in Leesburg, VA, but will require frequent travel to the Ayer, MA facility to ensure HR support at that location.
