Job Summary

Are you ready to be a part of an exciting, dynamic team and to help lead them to success in their vision? Rockwell Collins is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of platform systems engineers in Cedar Rapids, IA in the development of the Flight2 Avionics solutions in the Fixed Wing Systems department. The Fixed Wing Systems department supports many platforms including C130s, AWACS, KC-135, KC-10, P3s, and more.

This role is responsible for leading and mentoring the platform systems development team throughout the entire development lifecycle, including requirements definition, system design, hardware and software development, integration, test, verification, validation as well as ground and flight test. Success in this role is measured through exceptional program performance, continuous innovation, and the development of the team members.

Job Responsibilities

The key responsibilities and attributes for this position are:

Lead successful avionics cockpit system development programs

Manage scope, schedule, and budget for avionics development

Identify, recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent across the spectrum of entry-level to very experienced system engineers

Build and leverage networks within the department, within Rockwell Collins

Communicate well with a wide variety of individuals including Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and customers.

Basic Qualifications

US Citizenship

Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

Experience with successful avionics systems development programs.

Demonstrated ability to lead others

Experience with managing scope, schedule, and budget for avionics development

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
