The Sr. Director, Continuous Improvement serves as a key strategic partner to cross-functional teams and oversees all facets of strategy, program, and process development to enable our businesses to apply lean thinking, tools and systems aimed at improving all aspects of how we work and deliver value to our customers. This position is a highly impactful, high profile role that requires strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills in a challenging – but rewarding - environment. The role provides a satisfying balance of strategic planning with key business decision-makers and “roll up your sleeves” ownership of implementation and results. Candidates must be ready and excited to drive innovative thinking, challenge status quo, and provide hands-on leadership to implement successful strategy.The Sr. Director Continuous Improvement will provide leadership, and direction on all facets of the Continuous Improvement Strategy, with accountability for the delivery of this initiative; Serves as Business Unit leader of Continuous Improvement for Operations, Corporate Functions, and Warehouse/Transportation; interacts extensively with BU leadership, peer CI Directors and teams, functional stakeholders, as well as outside partners to develop and execute our standard process for the Tyson Productivity System (TPS), to enable a transformation in culture through application of lean thinking and tools; partners with peer CI Tyson partners to lead standardization in programs and processes aimed at driving productivity, process improvements, and variation reductions, including Six Sigma Methodology, and CI blitz type activity; serves as project lead for external consultant on coordination related to project content. Also, conducts and leads key analysis; develops and maintains BU annual CI Playbook and Plan, tied directly to BU metrics and goals, wherein results in effectiveness are measured directly from business performance and KPIs; ensures the right experts are engaged across areas; develops a communication model to cohesively communicate with key project stakeholders cross functionally and vertically through all levels of the organization; serves as a point of contact for escalations, project collisions and team dynamics.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from accredited 4-year college or university required. MBA strongly preferred.Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience, with deep understanding of marketing fundamentals including brand strategy & positioning, integrated marketing communication, innovation, and portfolio management; experience in program management or strategy in a major corporation, top-tier strategy consulting firm, or combination of these experiences.Computer Skills: Superior quantitative, analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills, including a working knowledge of statistical and financial modeling.Communication skills: Outstanding oral, written and communication skills; discriminating listener; excellent leadership, facilitation, interpersonal and consensus building skills; strong negotiation skills and a diplomatic ability to manager conflict; great team player with a positive attitude, enormous energy and enthusiasm.Special skills: Demonstrated success in leveraging consumer knowledge and insights to drive business results; demonstrated track record of both developing and executing innovative strategies to deliver outstanding top and bottom-line results Proven ability to work cross-functionally to achieve transformational goals; strong team player who consistently places the success of the company ahead of personal success; track record of success in an operating environment or strong evidence of the potential to succeed; thought leader and proven problem solver with the ability to conceive and articulate innovative ideas and drive project from idea to revenue; passion and drive to imagine solve and execute ambitious projects within set timeframes; ability to balance strategic focus with tactical implementation and executionTravel: Ability to travel 50%
