Senior Director, Group Meeting and Events Strategy Job

Hilton is looking for a Senior Director of Group Meeting and Events Strategy to work collaboratively with internal business groups to design and execute the global vision for our Group Meeting and Events strategy, as well as contribute to positioning Hilton as number one in the minds of Meeting Planners and Travel Counselors. The Senior Director will have ownership and influence over the meeting and events technology platforms (shopping, booking, application functionality), B2B Loyalty Program offerings and enterprise adoption, among other customer led solutions.

What will I be doing?

The Senior Director of Group Meeting and Events Strategy will report to the Senior Vice President, Commercial Director of the Americas and therefore will need superb communication and interpersonal skills. The Senior Director will work closely with other departments within Commercial Services (Sales, B2B Marketing and Partnerships, Strategy and Planning, and Sales Technology) as well as with colleagues from Brands, Digital, Global Marketing, Finance and Operations, in order to help connect the dots. The Senior Director will need to be an innovative leader in order to increase Hilton's digital engagement with meeting planners.

The Senior Director of Group Meeting and Events should have extensive group meeting and events experience and have the ability to think conceptually, while drilling down and executing the overall plan. This person will need to be a strategic thought leader and will be expected to contribute heavily to the work, as they work side by side with their team.

Other key priorities are listed below:

Assist in the development of Group Meeting and Event strategic initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional business partners (Brand.com venue search functionality)

Responsible for defining the needs of the group customer throughout the customer journey (path to purchase, plan, and post event), and for establishing timelines and success criteria of meeting and event technology roadmaps and platform to support the end user

Experience understanding, aligning, and incorporating functionality into business technology and processes to support the customer journey

Responsible for assisting in defining the value proposition for internal and external clients in order to set a unique marketing plan to build brand loyalty and create competitive advantage with our B2B customer

Lead and develop the product development build out to increase Hilton's Meeting and Events online presence and capabilities

Drive B2B loyalty by identifying the Planner and delivering consistent and meaningful benefits through strong messaging campaigns (Honors, Wowmakers, etc.)

Work closely with Executive Leadership to design and execute Hilton's Group Channel strategy and management

Responsible for optimizing distribution connectivity through our technology platforms, providing external customers (Corporate Clients, Agencies and third parties) with booking portals and enabling customized special offers

Streamline billing and commissions process and technology

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external meeting planners and third party vendors

Bring in-depth insight into the meeting planner customer and other group business decision makers

Must be adept at incorporating emerging trends and technology into future business processes and the customer journey

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of ten (10) years of Travel Industry Management experience

A minimum of ten (10) years of professional work experience

A minimum of seven (7) years of Travel Industry experience

A minimum of four (4) years of experience managing high performing teams

A minimum of four (4) years of B2B Travel Industry Sales, Marketing or Events experience

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

In-depth knowledge of the Hospitality Travel industry

Ability to travel as required (50%)

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

MA/MS Master's Degree

A minimum of seven (7) years of Hotel Hospitality experience

A minimum of six (6) years of management or supervisory experience

Proficient in the use of SalesForce technology

Proficient in the use of Delphi technology as a booking engine

Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal, written), while employing diplomacy with high-level executives and customers within the organization on a global scale

Strong negotiation skills in order to maximize value for internal and external stakeholders
