Job Responsibilities

Diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, and/or complex software not related to information technology. Have basic knowledge of electronics, including Ohm's Law, Kirchoff's Laws, efficient power transmission (impedance matching), transistor biasing, breakdown voltages, relays, transients, electronic circuit schematics, block diagrams, derivation of Bel measurement (dB, dBm), basic test equipment such as DMM, RF generator, watt meter, antenna analyzer, attenuators, fox-and-hounds wire-pair identifiers, phone line analyzers, cable verifying test sets, crimp tools and techniques.

Have basic TCP/IP and network knowledge, including meaning of IP addresses, simple IP tools such as ping, ipconfig, tracert.General Field Service Maintenance practices:

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.

Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.

Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results could result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.

Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Exercises judgment in selection methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards.

Considered an expert in field within the organization. Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Responds to situations where third-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.

Involved in planning and preparing customer installation and training. Prepares, provide approval and validation of product support documentation. Prepare on-site installation drawings where modifications have been performed.

Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering.

Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

Coordinates, investigates, and recommends new business tools for users as requested.

Undertakes pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support including commissioning, installation, testing, and maintenance service to customers.


Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience; and:

Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (Requires US Citizenship)

Ability to pass Homeland Security Background Investigation

Experience in working with electronic and electrical installations.

Organizational, Intermediate, or Depot level experience on ground radios, avionics, or other equipment

Experience necessary with HF radios or networks

Experience with Airborne HF products, Mobile HF products, Rockwell Collins RT-2200 and/or Rockwell Collins HF-9000 airborne radio preferred

Must be willing to travel 50-75% of the time
