Job Description

Responsible for identifying and vetting sources, soliciting quotes for Bill of Materials, and negotiating terms and best value. Post-award action includes issuing purchase order awards, handling purchasing management related issues, and supporting indirect procurement activity. Other duties include working w/DCMA to preserve an Approved Purchasing System, manage the Purchasing Card Program, and Category Management across the entire company. Must hold a warrant in compliance with the CACI Procurement Policy and CACI’s signature authority database.

Responsible for purchasing highly complex or unusual, technical, or high value materials, supplies, or services. Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, quality and service. Follows up on all awards until completion of order. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering change orders. Oversees and/or conducts supplier site visits as necessary. Provides work leadership for lower level employees. Typically works on and places purchase orders valued up to $750,000. May be assigned higher value tasks with oversight from senior management level staff.

Frequently interact with suppliers, internal customers, functional peer groups, clients and executive management regarding complex requirements and strategies.

Works on highly complex assignments where analysis of data is required. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined processes and procedures in selecting methods or techniques for obtaining solutions

Requires in depth knowledge of business principles in areas such as purchasing, materials logistics, contracts law, finance, accounting and standard operating procedures. Requires the ability to perform job requirements within the scope of the position with minimal supervision. Requires significant knowledge and experience and the ability to perform all aspects of the job requirements.

Detail oriented and organized. Able to understand purchasing and accounting data and ensure accuracy. May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications


Typically BA/BS in business or related field or equivalent 7-9 yrs. exp. in purchasing.

Must be able to obtain a security clearance

Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
