Job Description / Information

Partner with business representatives at all levels to identify needs, define, prioritize and document requirements for system solutions to address business opportunities.

Management of Stakeholder Expectations:

Able to effectively influence business sponsors, challenging them as appropriate

Responsible for demand planning and demand management conversations with business sponsors

Match business demand to existing IS portfolio solutions

Communication and Relationship Skills:

Effectively communicate plans, issues, Communicate effectively across multiple constituencies to influence service outcomes and steer towards enterprise objectives

Send updates and risks to interested parties including detail that considers the altitude of the audience; ensure common perception and understanding of scope of work and state of deliverables

Submit weekly status reports to management and other interested parties displaying highlights, issues, project progress, wins, concerns, etc.

Build and foster relationships with business users, stakeholders and partners; Understand their roles, key drivers for success; Maintain awareness of their perception of our solutions and key pain points through regular meetings, talks, or other appropriate means; These expectations extend from individuals / users to management and senior management.

Build consensus by influencing others to drive progress and contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.

Requirements and Solution Definition:

Identify business opportunities and create a business case that justifies how IT services will meet strategic objectives and outcomes

Elicit requirements from users, include both the explicit and implicit inputs; Search out un-articulated needs and define requirements that anticipate them; Avoid surprise / late-breaking requirements

Capture requirements that effectively utilizes the time spent with users; Avoid repeated meetings that cover the same ground; Promptly ask for clarification when needed, and follow-up as necessary

Incorporate and account for dependencies in requirements definition that may stem from business processes or other IT systems

Produce requirements documentation that is clear and easy-to-understand for users and targeted audience; remove ambiguity as to what the requirements represent

Proactively guide the business towards optimal solutions; Within the solution, as appropriate, identify opportunities for process optimization, process redesign or development of new processes

Create and maintain pertinent documentation for users including knowledge articles, user manuals, FAQs, etc.

Build expertise in the business area related to the requirements and solution definition; research material and engage relevant people to develop that knowledge to a credible level; understand the business processes involved and key drivers for success

Maintain expertise in the data involved for the solution, including the definitions, source(s), related business processes and downstream system usage.

Actively work with users or other stakeholders to create, define, review and improve test scripts related to requirements; Closely support testing cycles

These expectations apply to level of significant breadth and complexity of the involved business areas that span multiple systems, business processes, departments, etc.

Communicate effectively to team members, adding appropriate filters as required, to drive team unity and engagement.

Risk Management:

Identify risks to delivery, elevate with the appropriate urgency; provide proposals for how to mitigate; Avoid issues that arise without prior recognition and communication of the risk

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related field or equivalent, three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Proficient in complex IT systems, preferably 3-5 years of ERP or CRM experience (Oracle, SAP, SalesForce)

Preferred candidate will have experience in MRP, purchase to pay business processes, production planning and inventory management

Willingness to dedicate whatever time is necessary to learn business processes/applications which he/she may be less proficient in (as necessary).

Strong understanding of financial principals

Ability to direct and recommend cost-effective creative solutions.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
