Internal Audit Services at CIT is looking for an experienced internal audit professional to join their team as a Senior Auditor on our Business Unit Audit teams at our headquarters in Livingston, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing internal audit engagements covering the business Units at CIT evaluating internal controls, performing and documenting audit test work, and communicating audit issues to management. The individual will also begin to in-charge small, non-complex audits. The Senior Auditor's principal duties and responsibilities include the following:
\u2022 Organize and effectively plans for assigned areas in the development of the audit scope, including those for assigned team members, when in-charging a job.\u2022 Assist in the development of audit test steps.\u2022 Working with key stakeholders to provide value-added recommendations to the client. \u2022 Evaluating Management\u2019s responses for accountability and adequacy when in-charging an audit.\u2022 Building relationships outside the department, promoting a positive image of IAS.\u2022 Keep current on emerging risks related to areas of responsibility. \u2022 Commitment to professional development through continuing education. Pursing a relevant certification is highly encouraged.
\u2022 Ability to adequatly understanding business processes, and financial reporting & analysis.\u2022 Basic understanding of business units\u2019 technology environment and requirements to support information delivery and business processes, including data flows.\u2022 Adequately performs work paper review for assigned staff when needed.\u2022 Ability to identify root causes and recommend acceptable remediation plans when needed.\u2022 Practices proactive communication, advising all stakeholders of their progress and any inability to make an assigned deadline.\u2022 Knows how and when to apply a technical skill or procedure.\u2022 Demonstrates appropriate and effective business writing, e.g., audit issues.\u2022 Strong interpersonal skills \u2013 gains cooperation and respect of peers.\u2022 Demonstrates reliability and dependability. \u2022 Demonstrates commitment to common goals of team over individual goals.\u2022 Helps train less experienced staff.\u2022 Performance management skills \u2013 includes ability to provide timely and valuable feedback to team members when in-charging an audit.
\u2022 Undergraduate Degree Accounting, MIS or Finance preferred.\u2022 4 \u2013 8 Yrs. Experience, preferably in Banking.\u2022 Certification of CIA, CISA, or CPA is a plus.\u2022 Strong analytical, audit planning and organizational skills.\u2022 Ability to travel periodically locally and out of state as needed; approximately 10% travel required.\u2022 Strong PC skills (Excel and Word).
