We nurture a work environment where people with a variety of thoughts, ideas and backgrounds, guided by our shared Values, come together to make Capital One a great company – and a great place to work.The Role:As a Project Manager on the Card Legal Team in the Legal Department, you will be a critical part of a smart, talented team responsible for advising US Card on a variety of legal and risk matters.You will lead critical work across our team and US Card, including project management, process improvement, process design and analysis and team engagement.  In this new position, you will contribute immediately while strengthening your process management, project management, communication and influencing skills.  This position is a new one, so you will have the opportunity to make the role your own and identify opportunities to make a difference.General Responsibilities:Assist with special projects that require significant involvement from the Card Legal Team, e.g., changes in terms and holistic reviews of customer communications, including: interfacing with business project manager and leaders to learn about current practices, documentation and constraints; bringing together working group; helping establish and track deadlines and deliverables; and collecting input and commentsAssist with ongoing processes such as review of Card marketing and complaints, including triageDevelop and implement team well-managed initiatives, including, for example, creation of playbooks and documentation of best practicesIdentify opportunities to improve how the team works with each other and with other groups, including the development of interaction modelsAssist with the identification and implementation of team development and team-building opportunitiesAnalyze, identify and implement associate survey result reporting, performance management processes and roll-out of new technologies and processesManage quarterly team reporting for Card and Office of the General Counsel leaders, including soliciting inputs and drafting submissions for reviewThe ideal candidate will:• Exhibit a proven track record of process and project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work in a dynamic complex environment• Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills, essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes• Be a self-starter, able to see untapped opportunities and make offers to influence improvements and changes• Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands• Display strong consulting and collaboration skills• Demonstrate ability to manage both technology and non-technology projects• Understand software development lifecycle and help bridge the gap between Legal and Technology• Have demonstrated experience in various project management / problem solving methodologies (waterfall, agile, design thinking, etc.)Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience• At least 2 years of Project Management OR Process Management experiencePreferred Qualifications:• 2 years of experience working in an Agile environment or technology delivery• Advanced degree• BPM, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification• Scrum or PMP certification• 2 years of Financial services or banking industry experienceAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. ,educationRequirements:McLean 1 (19050), United States of America, McLean, VirginiaAt Capital One, we’re building a leading information-based technology company.
