The role:

The Research Analyst position will contribute to best-in-class research that differentiates JLL and builds and maintains a competitive advantage in the American marketplace through market expertise, analysis, and insight. The analyst will have primary responsibility for tracking and analyzing all aspects of the Puget sound Industrial markets and leverage that knowledge and expertise proactively for research products, client projects and business development efforts. This position will work closely with professionals throughout the national JLL offices as well as colleagues throughout the Americas research group.

Overall objectives:

Continually develop, enhance and leverage detailed knowledge of the national economy as it relates to the industrial real estate market.

Seek out, develop and share best practice standards for the region, the U.S. Industrial Group and the Americas Research Group.

Collaborate with the research team to help expand the existing platform including processes, products, and the ability to positive impact the business

Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients and facilitate the use of research as a differentiator.

Work with business leaders to position research to contribute to business development efforts.

Understand and manage key resources, data vendors, and development of effective infrastructure and technology

Work alongside the GIS and analytics teams to help visualize data offerings

Specific responsibilities:

Lead the maintenance and oversee data integrity of the U.S. industrial lease and sale comparables database

Track, analyze, and disseminate urban retail data for primary U.S. markets, including data collection, database maintenance, and data visualization

Collaborate with local markets to ensure sharing of best practices and data processes

Participate in retail market statistics process, including collection, verification and final approval and analysis.

Respond to all internal and external client requests for data and information.

Analyze and report on the national economy with respect to employment statistics, major industrial activity, and industry trends and demographics that affect the industrial real estate market and economy.

Attend all relevant sales or business team meetings and actively contribute research insights.

Participate with the research team at one or more annual industriall conferences.

Experience and qualifications

A solid one to two years in commercial real estate research or closely-related field.

Strong educational background with Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field preferred.

Understanding of real estate markets and dedication to learning the national retail market and business.

Proficiency with the following software programs: Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and an advanced command of Excel

Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and workload.

Ability to constantly exceed stakeholder and client expectations and positively represent the firm.

Ability to both work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Solid writing and oral communication skills.

High-level analytical and problem-solving skills and strategic-thinking capacity.

Experienced, polished and innovative presentation skills.

Intellectual curiosity.

Intense passion and interest in real estate, the economy and markets overall.
