Job Description
Position Summary:\rThe Senior Accountant is responsible for providing financial accounting and analysis to support the Controller and the Finance Group for the Trim & Mouldings business. Responsibilities encompass monthly financial close and reporting, assisting with annual budgets and monthly forecasts, maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls compliance.\rDuties and Responsibilities:\r\rCoordination and performance of month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting for the Trim & Mouldings business. Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting of results.\rMaintain monthly account reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled timely within the month end cycle, and that adjustments are made promptly.\rReview the Hard Close Binder on a monthly basis, ensuring its completion is timely and accurate, and all supporting documentation is included, in accordance with the Review Checklist.\rPrepare monthly entries, maintain, and perform analysis for various accounts, including Consignment Inventory Sales, Rebates, and Discounts.\rAssist Controller with monthly analysis and reporting of financial results, including monthly and quarterly reporting (e.g. ART, Management Estimates).\rOversee Capital Expenditures, prepare monthly Capital Asset reporting, and ensure projects are Capitalized timely and in accordance with company procedures.\rPrepare various schedules and analyses on a monthly basis including inventory, sales, profitability, statistics, and operational metrics.\rEnsure commodity taxes are remitted in accordance with government regulations\rPrepare Annual Tax Package.\rRespond to inquiries (internal and external) for financial information and analysis.\rMaintain and file all financial reporting information as per departmental and Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines\rParticipate in quarterly and annual inventory counts.\rAssist the controller in managing Sarbanes Oxley compliance and training.\rOther tasks as assigned by manager.\rIdentify opportunities for improvements in process and systems.\rComply with all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, as applicable.\r\rEducation and Experience:\r\rCompletion of a university degree.\rFormal accounting designation (CPA).\rMinimum 3 years of financial accounting experience in manufacturing.\rDemonstrate a high proficiency in using various applications, including MS Office and advance Excel skills.\rExperience with corporate reporting requirements, external/internal audits.\rExperience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and financial reporting controls.\rDemonstrated ability to succeed in a fast paced environment\rAbility to manage multiple priorities, utilizing effective time management skills, to meet deadlines.\rStrong problem solving skills and proven analytical ability.\rStrong written and oral communication.\r\r
