Responsible for the timely preparation of quality monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external GAAP-basis deliverables, including balance sheets, P&L reports, and 10-Q/K style reporting. Utilizes accounting knowledge to perform analysis, research variances, and resolve issues as they arise in order to present findings/recommendations to Management. Prepares reports efficiently and effectively utilizing strong data management skills. Position resides in Investments GAAP Reporting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare and coordinate quarterly financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, specifically surrounding debt and equity investment securities.
Independently prepares monthly financial reports in conjunction with closing deadlines, utilizing a broad knowledge of accounting principles. Analyze results and present findings/recommendations to Management.
Research accounting and financial reporting requirements, recommend accounting treatment for transactions based on such research and document accordingly.
Helps drive projects and facilitate meetings with various functions including accounting, operations, and IT.
Assist in the annual audit and quarterly review activity with external auditors.
Recommends process improvements to increase efficiency in processing, control environment, or analyzing financial information.
Assist with the management of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance.
Partner with other departments on special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.','!*!Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong technical accounting knowledge.
Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills.
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Ability to apply analytical business acumen/knowledge to financial reports
Ability to connect business data needs to systematic processes/tools.
Expert level Excel proficiency.
