Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities for assigned project(s) in order to ensure that the books are closed on time, in accordance with GAAP, and without material misstatement, assisting SEC related filings and other reporting requirements.


*Perform accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned projects and/or business units *Perform accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close. Duties will include recording of necessary expense and balance sheet related journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and analysis of financial statements, and general accounting support. *Perform billing activities for O&M contracts, including cash forecasting, true up process, invoice creation, submittal and gathering support *Provide guidance to A/P and A/R regarding proper coding *Prepare periodic comparative variance analysis as required. *Seeks and understands the customer/client's needs and  focuses on meeting and exceeding their expectations


*Bachelor's degree in accounting is required with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in general accounting and financial reporting including a good understanding of basic and complex accounting issues, processes, multiple company structure and consolidations. *Two or more years of Big 4 public accounting and CPA certification/MBA is preferred. *Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers. *Persistence needed in order to resolve problems quickly. *Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a team oriented culture. *Experience in a fast paced environment including ability and experience to meet firm deadlines including monthly close on a defined schedule. *Ability to read and interpret complex contracts *Able to understand business processes, systems, assets, resources, and key personnel *Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) at all levels of the organization *Critical thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box to solve complex problems *Ability to read, write and understand English *Proficient with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel with knowledge of advanced features such as pivot tables, look ups and macros. Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred. *Knowledge of SAP, including FI/CO and Sales and Distribution modules *Prior experience in the energy industry or similar commodity based business preferred but not required.
