Senior Account Manager

I. Job Purpose/Scope:

Manage assigned customer accounts to ensure customer satisfaction in the area of product, price, quality, service, and technology. Under limited

supervision and instruction, acts as the main liaisons and negotiator with the customer and internal team members.

II. Job Duties/Responsibilities (

Heavy

“farming”

type position):

Oversee or act as the project manager to overall customer satisfaction.

Lead / motivate internal team members from other departments; Sales drives the organization.

Ensure all engineering changes made to products are correctly priced and submitted to the customer on a timely basis by utilizing the internal systems and procedures in place for communicating changes.

Meet with customers on a regular basis to review pricing and design changes submitted to ensure customer confirmation/approval of pricing.

Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills.

Well organized and “good with numbers”.

Manage other areas of the account such as payments or follow-up on past due receivables. Negotiate with the customer as needed to resolve any open financial issues (could be freight, packaging, returned shipments for non-conforming goods). This negotiation should be subject to limited

input from direct supervisor.

Communicates frequently with engineering, sales, cost estimators, customers, and managers to ensure current status relative to pricing, design, program issues, part issues, contract terms and conditions, and all other customer issues.

Maintain customer contact lists.

Understands assigned customers (processes/procedures, contacts – purchasing, engineering, marketing, and quality, customer’s products and trends, etc.).

Forecast existing business and develop plans to identify/pursue new business, and implement those plans (Customer Strategies and Action Plans).

Identify new business opportunities, obtain RFQ’s, lead RFQ process, deliver RFQ response, follow-up with customers, and communicate status of new opportunity within TRW.

Aware of customer satisfaction metrics and issues (TRW’s supplier scores, PPM’s, Rejects, Delivery Problems, and etc.).

Serve as a trainer for less experienced staff as necessary

Performs other duties as assigned.

III. Supervision Received and Given:

Minimal supervision should be required by the direct supervisor.

Self motivated and fully knowledgeable of what needs to be done.

Able to set priorities based on customer and internal needs.

IV. Experience & Educational Requirements

Have Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and generally four to six years of experience in related field

Have very strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Strong negotiator and business acumen.

Have strong administrative, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.

Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.

Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

V. Supplemental (specific for this opening):

Knowledge of Ford

Experience with Chassis type products: brakes, steering, axles, or etc.

Strategic thinker

Good “Farmer”, but must be able to “Hunt”.
