Job Description

The Security Technician role is responsible for security related activity in support of the Maximo and TRIRIGA SaaS applications. Windows Administration and Security Configuration will be the primary focus of the Security Technician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work as a member in the Security and Operations team

Review and assess current security controls for Windows based systems

Support internal health checking, vulnerability and patching process on Windows systems

Development and refinement of security groups and user policies

Document and develop security related documentation and controls

Interface with automation team to roll-out updates and patching

Coordinate security patching and other operation activities with internal teams

Support SOC1/SOC2 audit requirements

Support security compliance procedures and activities

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment:

Education and Work Experience

The candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, or computer science, or possess equivalent experience. Experience with ISO 27001, SOC1 or SOC2 audits is preferred but not required. The solution is delivered within the IBM cloud and experience working in similar environments is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

The candidate will possess excellent communication, presentation, organization and planning skills. As well, excellent interpersonal skills to work as a team member and as a liaison with customers are required. MCSA in Windows Server 2012 or demonstrated equivalent work experience is required. Familiarity with Maximo or TRIRIGA applications at a functional or technical level is an asset. Experience with Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu) and working knowledge of WebSphere Application Server and DB2 would be valuable as well.

Equipment and Applications

PC’s, hand-held devices, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, e-mail and other software applications as required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment, evening and weekend work required on occasion in support of client activities. In the event of a major outage, expected to be part of the recovery team until service is restored.

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by embargo Export Regulations. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following embargoed countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Maximo and/or TRIRIGA functional and technical expertise is an asset.

2 years minimum experience with SOC 1 and or SOC 2 audit requirements is necessary for the successful candidate.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Several years of experience with Linux (Redhat and or Ubuntu) and a thorough working knowledge of Websphere Application Server and DB2 Data bases is required.
