Security Officer Sr

Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of QTC personnel and strict adherence to QTC’s policies. Work includes but is not limited to: monitoring assigned QTC premises for security issues, developing security programs, managing the personnel security process, conducting investigations for violations, and preparing reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment.

Manages the National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) process, which includes fingerprinting and obtaining information from applicable personnel and submitting appropriate documents to relevant agencies.

Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations.

Develops and executes security programs associated with the protection of proprietary information in compliance with corporate policies.

Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company compliance and contract execution as set forth in DOD security rules (NISPOM).

Maintains the fundamental security requirements defined by the customer/company and program.

Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor’s access to restricted records and materials.

Develops and conducts security education classes.

Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.

Applies business-minded and risk-managed solutions to security issues and business challenges, and communicates observations and recommendations to leadership and enterprise business partners.

Requirements

Competencies

Ability to problem solve, multi-task, prioritize duties and assignments, and monitor all aspects of a security program ensuring compliance with all aspects of the program including personnel security, physical security, information security PII protection & administrative security procedures.

Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication to be able to exhibit a calm and thoughtful demeanor in difficult or potentially volatile circumstances.

Functional word processing/computer skills, detail oriented, and superior written communication for clear and concise report writing.

Ability to develop training programs to include workplace violence awareness & information protection programs.

Education and/or Experience

includes certificates & licenses

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

6 to 10 years of Industrial Security experience

Previous Law Enforcement or Military Special Security Officer (preferred)

Experience supporting the Veterans Administration or other Civil Government Agencies processing handling Public Trust and personnel security requirements (preferred)

FSO Program Management Certification (preferred)

Experience with HIPAA Compliance requirements (preferred)
