The Security Master Department

is accountable for the second largest file held at the firm – the security master file. Team members in this group are responsible for updating and maintaining fields associated with all of the securities held at Wells Fargo. The team responds to requests sent from the field and from various internal departments to a group email box monitored by the team. Requests include new security setups as well as maintenance needs. Additionally, the team works daily maintenance reports, completing manual updates to securities that are unable to be completed using automated vendor feeds or other methods. These changes include such things as updating factors on securities, updating prospectus dates, updating delisted securities or symbol changes, etc.

The team collaborates with other departments when needed to contribute to related projects that require security updates, such as the onboarding of large sub firms to ensure all securities brought over are set up in our system, or due to mandatory changes derived from industry and/or regulatory initiatives.


Securities Operations Service Specialist 3 (SOSS 3)

duties within Trade Processing Security Master include providing rapid/accurate assistance researching and/or establishing security descriptions within the BETA backoffice system. Due to regulatory requirements, speed/accuracy of research and data entry are keys to the success of this position. This role requires communication with internal trading/trade support team members, as well as with internal and external business partners in order to resolve discrepancies. Due to the time-sensitivity and high degree of accuracy required of Trade Processing, the environment can be stressful.

Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Reviewing various time sensitive and/or complex documents

Communication with Financial Advisors, Traders, Trade Processing team members, external operations professionals, and Home Office personnel

Researching inquiries

Processing and reconciling security setups

Identifying and mitigating potential risk

Prioritizing work in order to meet SLAs

Working under moderate to minimal supervision

Special projects as assigned by management

Working in partnership with other departments

Required overtime to ensure work is completed and SLAs are met

Required Qualifications:

3 years of experience in one or a combination of the following: customer service, operations, financial services, accounting, business processing, analytical, financial, clerical, or call center

Desired Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills

Ability to work independently, proactively, innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment

1 year of brokerage operations experience

Beta experience

Microsoft Excel spreadsheets experience importing, exporting, and manipulating data

Ability to provide strong customer service while processing complex transactions and performing extensive research to resolve complex customer issues

Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment

Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills

Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data

Ability to provide operational training for new hires

1 years of experience with one or more of the following systems: Depository Trust Company (DTC), Bloomberg or Wisdom

Ability to work additional hours as needed
