Search Engine Marketing Analyst

Position Summary:

AutoNation is looking for a strong, data-driven search marketing analyst with a passion for the automotive space. The Analyst position is a key role on the corporate marketing team, leading tactical execution and analytics for our national search marketing channel, new & used business lines. The role will report into the Senior Manager, Search Engine Marketing.

The Marketing Analyst will be responsible for owning tactical search marketing campaign management and execution in an effort to grow our paid search business across AutoNation retail stores, working alongside a number of internal and external partners. The position will have regular and frequent interaction with senior leadership in the Marketing division, and must maintain alignment with broader business priorities. The role will share financial responsibility for the search marketing channel for a broad portfolio of retail stores and products (e.g. new/used vehicle sales and service). The search engine marketing team is a critical function, central to the strategic objectives of the business.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Research, develop and implement advanced SEM strategies and campaigns across multiple accounts.
  • Day-to-day campaign bid management and execution tactics across multiple search engines (e.g. Google, Bing, etc.) to exceed acquisition goals and maximize return on ad spend
  • Identify opportunities for keyword, geography, and channel expansion
  • Optimize bidding strategy, evaluate landing pages and update ad copy to improve channel performance
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and apply them as appropriate
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI especially for paid search
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization
  • Enhance our bidding and media buying methodologies
  • Maximize click-through rate (CTR), keyword quality score, and conversion rate through best practice and continuous testing effort
  • Provide in-depth analysis of the accounts and campaigns. Develop and execute optimization plans and bidding strategies for better ROI
  • Assist with landing page optimization strategies and A/B testing to improve performance
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.




Qualifications:



  • College degree required
  • Minimum 1-2 years Search Engine Marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Google AdWords Certification & Bing Accreditation a plus
  • Expert Excel skills (must be comfortable analyzing large quantities of data utilizing advanced Excel formulas)
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven record of business analysis driven and fact-based decision-making.
  • Highly productive and efficient with excellent time-management skills
  • Management consultant level with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities thru completion with minimal supervision
  • Must meet company’s requirements for employment.
