Overview
Navistar\u2019s Used Truck Organization (UTO) is a vital business unit which operates 14 Used Truck Centers (UTC\u2019s) throughout North America. UTO manages considerable assets gained primarily though New Truck trade packages with major U.S. fleet companies. Our UTC\u2019s engage in significant retail, wholesale and export transactions. The majority of inventory consists of our International brand class 8 trucks, but there is a wide assortment of every truck brand for sale at our UTC\u2019s.
 
Used Truck Asset Manager \u2013 Navistar UTO
 
Responsibilities:
Manage used truck assets by minimizing capital expenditures and operating expenses, and by maximizing the useful life of the truck asset. This will be done by:

Understanding the life-cycle of the used truck market, truck valuations and fleet customers/dealers to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
Purchasing of predetermined quantities of used trucks to provide Sales Team to re-sell in the global market.
Obtain the lowest possible rates while maintaining high standards, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Purchase used trucks using sound financial reasoning to maintain margins
Negotiate contracts for large volume purchases with favorable terms for Navistar
Build and  maintain relationship with customers/suppliers
Arrange transportation with required vendors of used trucks to customer delivery locations
Establish supplier evaluation based on KPI\u2019s (performance, safety, cost competitiveness, sustainability, etc.) in order to monitor, evaluate, develop or replace vendors.
Provide relevant KPI\u2019s and analysis for business segments in order to generate revenue.
Identify improvement opportunities and recommendations, implement solutions, and measure results
Process payments and invoices
Give presentations about market analysis and possible growth
Develop an asset management strategy
Produce reports and statistics
Attend meetings and trade conference

Position Purpose and Requirements
Responsible for attaining sales objectives on a district/regional basis. Responsible forlarger or more complex sales deals. Develops plans and participates in strategic and tactical planning. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
 
Basic Requirements:

Bachelor\u2019s degree and at least 10 years of sales experience
At least 4 years of management experience

OR

Master\u2019s degree and at least 8 years of sales experience
At least 4 years of management experience

OR

At least 12 years of sales experience
At least 4 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills:

Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business/Finance with 8-10 years\u2019 experience in heavy duty truck sales and/or used / aftermarket parts industry. 
This position performs the analysis that determines the selection of suppliers/dealers that Navistar has relationship with, negotiates pricing that directly affects the bottom line of the business segments, and will be used to determine pricing to our customers.
High degree of strategic and analytical skills required in order to develop a regional strategy and conduct required analysis to support the strategy and quantify the benefits vs. costs
Excellent communications skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management and other functions.  This position interacts with marketing, sales and operations to develop the best possible option for customer fulfillment and satisfaction while minimizing cost.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of  medium and heavy duty vehicles and the used/aftermarket parts industry
Ability to evaluate financial details purchases
Detail orientated and highly organized
Ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Effective negotiation skills
Microsoft Office
