DescriptionThe Sales Development Program (SDP) provides associates with training, marketing, and sales experience, both strategic and tactical. Rotations include a variety of market segments and functions, such as market strategy, the sales process from beginning through implementation, territory management, and business planning/forecasting. Each associate will also rotate through the Inside Sales organization and be responsible for a discrete set of customers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Each rotation will focus on a different product or product offering. Associates build their selling skills and competencies, which include:     

Customized training curriculum

Participate in the creating of sales messaging and behind the scenes product sales support

Building critical analytical skills needed to appropriately utilize product specific selling tools

Field based sales experiences with each product line and a variety of sales professionals to gain a broad understand of selling techniques

Access to targeted training classes designed to build specific selling skills such as presentation skills, negotiating skills and basic business practice   

As associate’s progress through each rotation, they continue to build and develop their skills, and enhance their overall knowledge of Baxter. Prior to completing the program, associates typically begin planning their transition to a regular, full-time sales position within the company, if available and assuming acceptable performance. As they do so, they have access to a variety of resources to help with the transition, including their mentors, the program manager, and past SDP alumni. It is the goal of the program for each associate to have the opportunity to spend at least the last month of the program in the designated territory with oversight from the existing rep.','!*!

Qualifications for this role

Baxter looks for SDP candidates with demonstrated results orientation and strong character.  Requirements include:

Exhibited leadership recommendation as to character, work ethic and leadership.

Possesses strong interpersonal skills and can adapt to and work well with diverse sets of situations and people through campus activities and work experience.

Three letters of recommendation.

Willing to travel when required. 

NOTE: Sales Associates are expected to relocate for program and upon hire, to appropriate territory.  Assistance will be provided. Education and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree required with a record of academic excellence.
