L-3 Flight International is a leader in providing both the government and the aerospace industry with RELIABLE, COST EFFECTIVE, & FLEXIBLE airborne testing platforms with a full range of capabilities, including towing (targets and decoys, etc.), carriage of customer furnished EW systems, customer specific payloads, and testing at a variety of altitudes, speeds, and environments.


Develops and implements flight safety programs for Flight Operations Department including a risk management program to identify hazards or unhealthful working conditions.  Performs a rigorous root cause analysis and develops/implements corrective programs to eliminate or mitigate the identified hazards and conditions. Monitors compliance of Department activities with applicable safety standards (e.g., DOT, FAA, OSHA, and EPA).  Provides periodic reports to management on state of the company flight safety program. 

Develops and maintains all ground, simulator and flight training programs required for the company’s Part 135 Training Manual and any additional training programs required for the special missions performed for the CAS MOS or other contracts.  Supervises all Flight Operations training including scheduling of activities and the coordination of training personnel, equipment and facilities.  Maintains pilot ground and flight training records IAW 14 CFR § 135.63.  Evaluates available training resources and advises management concerning training requirements, methods, and sources.

Flies Learjet 35/36 for DOD training support flights throughout the US and Canada IAW FAR Part 135 and applicable DOD regulations.  Provides training support for USN, USAF and Canadian facilities and units using a Lear 35/36 configured for EW transmissions or target tow capability for ship or aerial gunnery.  Also flies support missions in two-ship formations for air intercept control training and DOD RDT&E programs including flights down to 100 ft AGL.  Completes all preflight planning including weight and balance calculations, determining takeoff and landing data, filing flight plans and confirmation of aircraft’s airworthiness IAW approved MEL.  Performs both Pilot Flying and Pilot Not Flying duties including communication and navigation throughout US and Canadian airspace IAW 14 CFR § Part 91/135 and applicable Canadian regulations.

Experience and Education:

Bachelors Degree in related field.  Completion of an aviation safety education program (military or civil) with emphasis on aviation related safety programs, safety standards applicable to aviation operations, accident causation and prevention theory, incident or accident investigation, risk management techniques, root cause analysis  and Crew Resource Management.  Experience as the Flight Safety Manager of a civil flight department or military Flight Safety Officer at a squadron or wing level.','!*!Experience in Instructional System Design (ISD) or similar systematic approach to training development.

This is a mandatory Staff Pilot Position.  Therefore are minimum flight experience requirements:

1. Airline Transport Pilot – AMEL, or Commercial Pilot Certificate – AMEL, and Instrument Airplane Ratings, and current ATP written results.

2. US Military Tactical Fixed Wing Flying Experience or a minimum of one year experience on DOD Commercial Air Services contract.

3. 1500 hours total flight time excluding simulator.

4. 1000 hours pilot in command (PIC) in fixed wing aircraft.

5. Experience as a flight instructor including primary and instrument flight instruction, ATP or military Aircraft Commander instruction and instruction in turbine powered aircraft.

Must be able to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements:  Must possess current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
