Safety Manager

Job Summary:

The position provides support and implementation of the safety program for Viox/EMCOR Facilities Services. Position requires up to 70% of very flexible travel

or obtain) OSHA Outreach Instructor certification for General Industry. The position will be responsible for establishing a library of Standard Operating Procedures

SOP’s) for the organization based on our scope of services. The position works closely assigned account teams am with regular assessments and safety meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports safety program by performing safety assessments and due diligence audits of existing and potential client facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, submits related reports of findings to management and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

Monthly meetings/visits with the assigned client team

s) for training, safety talks, and/or equipment assessments.

Manages development of SOP’s and site communications/customization of same for the organization

Supports and responds to daily team needs across the organization.


Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Safety & Health, EH&S Management or a related field required. A Master’s degree in any of those fields listed above preferred.

Bi-lingual – A plus

Minimum 5-7 years of leadership/managerial experience within the Environmental Health and Safety function required.

OSHA Outreach instructor credentials.

Must have strong computer skills using MS Office package including proficiency in excel, word and PowerPoint

Ability to interpret Federal, State, and Local safety and health regulations as they apply to Viox/EFS personnel and any assigned scope of services. Ability to develop local operating procedures, written programs to address regulatory requirements and safe work. Ability to perform project and site hazard assessments.

General Knowledge / Responsibilities

• OSHA 10-Hour

General Industry), Asbestos Awareness, Confined Space , Electrical Safety , Fall Protection, Fire Extinguisher, First Aid. including CPR), Hazard Communication [Chemicals/GHS] , Hazwoper, Hearing Conservation , Lockout Tagout, Personnel Protective Equipment , Respirator


Experience or basic knowledge of

• SPCC, SWPPP, RCRA, TOMP, RMP, Hazardous Waste Management, SERC, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, Emergency and Disaster Planning

• Must be able to speak to all levels of associates and managers with clear communications regarding safety and training requirements.

• Must be able to speak proficiently to large groups.

• Must be a self-starter and driven to improve processes and systems in a changing work environment.

• Must be able to look at projects, client sites processes and our scope of services to identify hazards and establish training and safety equipment needs to protect our personnel, and then generate reports from assembled information.

• Must be detailed oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
