The Senior Director of Global People Practices leads and implements a wide range of activities related to employee relations and ensures the delivery through successful coordination with partnership from People & Development, Legal, Global Security, senior business partners, and other subject matter experts. This role works across the organization by providing expert consultation and support on employee relations, performance management, case management, policy development, and progressive work practices. The Senior Director of Global People Practices conducts and leads complex, high-risk and/or sensitive confidential investigations, and makes recommendations on next steps and appropriate discipline and ensures cases are handled fairly, consistently, transparently, in a timely fashion, and in line with Company policies, procedures, and appropriate local and federal law.
Conduct and lead complex high-risk and/or sensitive confidential investigations related to employee issues and claims; prepare investigative summaries and reports and makes recommendations on next steps and appropriate discipline. Partner with VP of Global People
Practices to conduct major investigations.
Develop plans and drives the change within the organization based on trust, mutual respect, accountability, clear expectations, and support for employees.
Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with People & Development Partners and other functional leaders..
Provide expert advice and guidance to business partners regarding best practices, policies, and employment laws in partnership with the Legal team.
Proactively identify and anticipate future legal changes and partner with the Legal team to provide options and recommendations that balance the level of risk, develop and implement a plan for the impact on the employment practices.
Oversee the development of documentation supporting the application of employment related processes and policies.
Develop and integrate the delivery of employee relations related learning and talent development interventions that address current, transition, and the future state with a plan on how to gain buy-in and alignment from both leadership & employees.
Work with the Legal team, and as appropriate through the relevant leaders to develop targeted training materials/sessions based the needs of each People and Development function (Generalists, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, etc) supporting the development of employee relations competency across the organization.
With the People & Development partners, drive the implementation of employment related policies, procedures, and provide written guidance for managers & employees, enabling them to be applied consistently by the Generalist P&D Business Partner team.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to assess the impact of policies and practices and make recommendations to address areas of inconsistency or practice improvement.
Explore, design, and implement positive employee policies that bring innovative work practices to the company, and offer a unique employee value proposition that attracts and retains key talent.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources Management or a related field. Master’s Degree, SHRM Certified Professional or J.D. strongly preferred
8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of employee/labor relations, human resource management, public employment law or a closely related field all within the setting of a highly complex, global organization
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws, regulations and guidelines related to EEO/ADA compliance, employment and affirmative action required
Strong experience in conflict resolution and mediation
Demonstrated excellence in both verbal and written communication
Skills and success in leading projects and/or administering programs to major milestones or timely decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
