SDC Quality TechnicianFairbanks Morse Engine - Berea, KY
The SDC Quality Technician’s daily job assignment is to ensure all work is done in a timely manner and all paperwork is filled out properly. He/She will work with shipping and production personnel to be sure their needs are being met. He/She will complete inspection audits for both incoming and outgoing shipments and maintain a high 5-S standard, keeping things organized and clean. The SDC Quality Tech will process RGA’s in a timely manner and be prepared to work with other teams on root cause and corrective actions. He/She will conduct root cause analysis of discrepancies and utilize Six Sigma problem solving techniques. He/She must be prepared to work off shifts on regular basis to fulfill audit expectations.

Inspections: Perform inspections and Audits on outgoing shipments and on incoming products. Identify root cause of discrepancies and work with teams on corrective actions (Training Auditors)
Corrective Action: Work with production on root cause and corrective actions the SDC can implement; working with manufacturers to resolve Quality issues to the SDC.
Technical: Collect data from customer service and chart data; collect internal data on the performance of the operation (visually sharing data internal and external)
RGA and Quality area: Responsible for processing the product and documentation and timely disposition of them
Documentation: Write and maintain standard work for this position.
Process audits to ensure adequate controls in place to deliver non-conformance free customer service and fulfillment
Point person for ISO audit requests
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Fork Truck driver’s license
Use of measurement and inspection equipment preferred
High School graduation or equivalent
Knowledge/use of a personal computer to input data and interpret data. Produce reports/graphs/charts
Successful experience working in a team environment that rapidly changes and requires collaboration
Able to lift 35 pounds. Maintain / Organize and Cleanup work area as needed
Ability to work any shift schedule needed
