Position OverviewThis position will manage risk and activities for certain Shared Information Assets (SIAs) of the Single-Family Business. The candidate will conduct on-going risk assessments, ensure appropriate controls are implemented and complete control remediation as needed. This position will be responsible for coordination of internal and external audit activities and SOX control testing that impact the SIAs. This position requires sound judgment, persistence and well-developed organizational skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee the establishment, maintenance, and execution of SOX and operational controls ensuring the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the SIAs

• Continuous monitoring of the control environment to identify control gaps, emerging risks and mitigation strategies, as well as opportunities to streamline and optimize the control environment

• Track, monitor and report on risk and control issues

• Coordinate with upstream and downstream Risk and Control teams to insure transparency and open communication in the end-to-end design of controls

• Ensure optimal control design for Single Family top initiatives

• Coordinate audits, SOX, and Operational Controls testing efforts; includes managing action plans to ensure they are completed timely and accurately

• Conduct regularly scheduled attestations and streamline disparate attestation processes

• Oversee security and Non-Disclosure Agreement processes for access to the SIAs

• Coordinate Records Information Management (RIM) and Business Continuity Planning activities for the department

• Maintain risks and controls documentation in corporate tool

• Partner with Data Stewards to conduct risk and control assessments and execute BARC process

• Build and maintain relationships in support of Three Lines of Defense model

• Supervise, develop and recruit staffQualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience

•5 - 8 years of audit, control, compliance or operational risk experience in the financial services industry

•Demonstrated ability to assess the adequacy of internal controls in mitigating risk

•Experience implementing Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and/or Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)

•Experience defining and documenting business processes and functions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presence

• Strong people management skills and the ability to develop a team

• Ability to effectively collaborate with upstream and downstream risk and controls stakeholders and influence outcomesPreferred Skills

•CPA, CIA, CISA or other professional certification

•Public accounting or internal audit experience

•MBA or other advanced degree

•Knowledge of secondary mortgage market and Freddie Mac's business

•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Ability to think critically and logically

•Ability to develop effective relationships across the firm

•Ability to influence others
