Under general supervision, creates and implements marketing strategies and manages subsequent campaigns for the sales department specifically targeting financial advisors at multiple outside broker/dealers using database systems. Provides relevant marketing content to coincide with investment “themes.” Analyzes market trends and provides suggestions for how to capitalize on insights. Ensures that proper branding, communications and production goals are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Researches market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales.

• Mines databases to identify market share opportunities at outside broker/dealers.

• Identifies and monitors competitors and analyzes competitive strengths and weaknesses of competitive products/services.

• Supports client relations and holds responsibility for the overall management of assigned business units, remaining both proactive in delivering added value to clients and responsive to meeting needs.

• Provides recommendations on brand and business objectives.

• Develops and monitors tactical initiatives that support clients’ objectives and strategies.

• Assesses needs of the retail sales force to provide relevant marketing materials to coincide with outside broker/dealer “themes”, including presentations and targeted marketing communications.

• Supports marketing programs and assists others in developing a clear, compelling and differentiated message and position for assigned products.

• Interprets market research and current industry developments and provides results and insights into market trends and preferences.

• Ensures product information materials meet contractual, regulatory, informational, marketing or product management requirements.

• Maintains a high level of familiarity with market and product management activity to ensure content integrity.

• Establishes and tracks results; reports results of effectiveness. 

• Establishes objectives and develops processes and procedures to ensure efficient and timely work flow.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.','!*!Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Advanced investment concepts and practices and procedures used in the securities industry.

• Advanced marketing theories, principles and practices and their application to assigned functional area.

• Customer analysis and profiling; market segmentations; program tracking and evaluation; and test design market data analysis.

• Financial markets and products. 

• Superior principles of English language usage and grammar, required to write and edit high quality accurate copy.

• Marketing process and overall business knowledge sufficient to develop marketing strategies within the organization on inter-departmental, corporate, business-to-business, and/or client levels.

• Industry trends with the ability to determine and convey their potential impact upon various clients. 

Skill in:

• Organizational, planning and time management, as well as a “roll up the sleeves” mentality, sufficient to independently oversee multiple projects from start to completion.

• Analyzing and presenting research results.

• Identifying and explaining trends.

• Organizing and maintaining research records, files and materials.

• Operating standard office equipment and using required software, including email, graphic, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and project management software. 

Ability to:

• Interact with management at all levels.

• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with individuals at all organizational levels.

• Organize, manage and track multiple projects with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

• Provide a high level of customer service.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Research or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of marketing, research or communications experience.


• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
