BlackRock is seeking a Researcher who will contribute to the management of BlackRock’s Defined Contribution strategies across multiple markets, countries and/or asset classes. The Multi-Asset Strategies Researcher will focus on the research, development, and delivery of custom defined contribution investment solutions.

We partner directly with clients to solve their investment and liability challenges by understanding their objectives, advising on solutions, and designing and implementing strategies that meet or exceed goals. The team’s guiding principles are to:  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing unbiased advice on portfolio issues and multi-asset solutions• Deliver BlackRock’s global capabilities by leveraging the firm’s insights in a holistic and consistent manner.• Employ a flexible framework using a dynamic approach to investment solutions that adapts to client needs.• Take ownership of implementation and performance, by focusing on high-quality execution and delivering investment results.Responsibilities:

• Work with diverse teams to design and construct portfolios tailored to suit investor requirements and preferences• Employ rigorous quantitative methods to optimize design of new and existing products• Independently conduct research to drive investment solutions and portfolio design• Engage in in-depth technical (coding) work on the portfolio management, research, and production codebase that underpins the systematic portfolio construction and management processes• Develop and extend risk models for existing and new products using internal BlackRock platform• Support plan-level data analysis using internal BlackRock platform• Support the development of both internal and external-facing portfolio allocation tools• Build relationships with other teams supporting the investment data and research process

Qualifications:• BA/BSc in a quantitative discipline. Graduate degree and CFA desirable.• 1 - 4 years of experience in a data driven, quantitatively oriented field. Asset management experience is a plus.  Familiarity with Aladdin infrastructure is desirable.• Knowledge of quantitative methods, portfolio construction, and asset allocation theory. • Demonstrated experience in statistical programming (Python/MATLAB/R). Database and object-oriented experiences are a plus.  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while producing a high-quality work in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Curious and self-motivated.• Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
